The basin offers a wide range of outdoor activities to enjoy during the summer months. Hike to one of the many peaks to have views that will take your break away, bike along the Truckee river and enjoy the views or the local fauna, rent a boat, take a mountain bike trail or enjoy the day off-roading in the Rubicon, camp in one of the many astonishing campsites all along the lake shore…

We are not going to try to take you on a slow and boring private guided tour, instead, we know your guys like to go fast, listen to good music and not be controlled by a guide. That’s why we have carefully put together a list of the most iconic spots to see, drive around and overall have the best possible experience without missing anything and all at your own pace!!

  • Can I bring my phone with me?

    All Jet Skis have a waterproof compartment where you can store your valuables. Also, we provide a waterproof bag with a cord so you can take pictures safely. However we are not responsible for any personal item lost in the lake or anything water damaged.

  • What is the temperature of Lake Tahoe?

    Temperature changes depending on what area of the lake you are, however, from mid June to the end of August, you can expect temperatures ranging from 62 to 70 degrees.

  • What is our cancellation policy?

    We require 72 hours before the date your reservation is scheduled for a cancellation with a full refund.

  • When is your peak season?

    The busiest season is from mid-June to mid-September. We are usually a little less busy through May and early June, and again, late September and October. However, if online says we are fully booked, give us a call and let us know what dates are you looking for and we might be able to make it work for you!

  • What if it’s bad weather on the date of our reservation?

    If we are unable to operate due to weather conditions, you will not be obligated to your reservation and you can either have it rescheduled for a different date or get a full refund. We will work with you to get the best solution possible… ALWAYS.

  • How early should I show up for my reservation?

    We recommend you to show at least 30-45 minutes before your reservation. 

  • Can I rent a Jet Ski without previous experience?

    Our jet ski rentals lake tahoe can be operated without any previous experience. All we ask from you is to take these activities with the same respect as when you drive your car. Our jet skis can go really fast and it can be dangerous to you or other people in the lake if operated carelessly.

  • How old do you have to be to operate a jet ski?

    You have to be at least 16 with a valid driver’s license to operate a Jet Ski with Jet Ski Rentals Lake Tahoe. Any operator under the age of 18 can only have a rider who is over the age of 18. A minor can not be responsible for another minor.

  • Can you deliver the jet skis to our vacation rental?

    If you have a dock in your rental property and you rent for at least 1 day, our Luxury Jet Ski rental service offers delivery and also a full set up of anything you need to have the best experience.

Is It Safe To Take A Swim In Lake Tahoe?

Swimming in the pristine turquoise waters of Lake Tahoe is totally safe - with one big caveat (and no buddy, we don’t mean Tahoe Tessie…): The water in Tahoe is cold, particularly the further you get from shore where the water is deep. 

Remember all the snow-capped mountains and all the things we talked about the world famous ski resorts…? Well, Tahoe is a high elevation alpine lake and snowmelt is the main source of water of our beloved lake.


That said, during the summer months, the weather is nice and warm so a dip in the lake is always refreshing. Close to shore, where the water is more shallow and the sun is able to warm the water, you can swim comfortably. Is not the Mediterranean sea but definitely even those with fear of cold waters could enjoy a good relaxing swim…


If you are taking the jet ski Lake Tahoe out, one person always has to be in the jet ski. We understand that sometimes doing hard turns and playing around you can fall from the watercraft, make sure you always keep your life vest on and swim back to the jet ski right away. On waters as cold as the deep lake areas if you stay in for long periods of time swimming can be difficult due to cramping and it can get dangerous so, be safe, enjoy your swims but don’t ever abandon your watercraft and let it get away from you…
